2009 the 27th In Tsukuba

The 27th International Symposium on Space Technology and Science (27th ISTS) was held from July 5 through July 12, 2009, at Tsukuba International Congress Center "EPOCHAL TSUKUBA" in Tsukuba City, Ibaraki Prefecture.

Prof. Junjiro Onoda of JAXA ISAS was the General Chairman of the Organizing Committee. At the symposium, 789 participants including 122 from abroad registered and 515 papers were presented.

This 27th symposium was the 50th anniversary of ISTS and the theme of the 27th ISTS was "Toward the Next 50 Years !" to review the space activities in the last 50 years and to view those in the next 50 years. The ISTS celebrated its 50th year with all the participants by holding the following special anniversary programs;

  • 50th Anniversary Award
  • Special Gratitude on 50th Anniversary
  • ISTS Special Booth at the exhibition hall
  • 50th Anniversary Demo Flights
