2004 the 24th In Miyazaki

The 24th International Symposium on Space Technology and Science (24th ISTS) was held from May 30 through June 6, 2004, at World Convention Center "Summit", Phoenix Seagaia in Miyazaki City, Miyazaki Prefecture.

Dr. Susumu Toda, Exective Director of JAXA was the General Chairman of the Organizing Committee. At the symposium, 712 participants including 106 from abroad registered, and 461 papers were presented.

In this 24th symposium, a new style of publications has started. In addition to the preprints sold on-site, a post-conference CD that contains all the presented papers was issued. Accordingly, these Proceedings have been redefined as a collection of highly qualified papers rather than all the presented papers.

These Proceedings contain 212 papers selected by the Program Committee chaired by Prof. Michikata Kono of University of Tokyo, based on the valuable comments pointed out by chairpersons and reviewers.
